Coaxial Valves
A coaxial solenoid valve is an electromechanically controlled valve and they are used in situations where regular solenoid valves do not suffice. Coaxial valves can be operated pneumatically or electrically with a solenoid. The term coaxial refers to the design principle. In contrast with ‘normal’ solenoid valves, the plunger movement and electric coil are in line with the pipe. The coil is integrated in the valve body, so it cannot be exchanged. The plunger is a hollow tube which closes off the flow by sliding against an elastomeric valve seat. This smart design brings several advantages:
- suitable for highly viscous, abrasive or contaminated media
- high flow rate (thanks to relatively unobstructed flow path) with low pressure loss
- high pressure (up to 64 bar)
- suitable for low pressure differentials and rough vacuums
- fast acting compared with other valve types
- relatively compact design
A disadvantage is the relatively high energy consumption and high weight compared to other valve types.
We offer direct operated, normally closed, 2/2-way coaxial solenoid valves. They are available in brass and stainless steel with various sealing materials. We provide the valves with different voltages and port sizes. The valves have good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating.
