Compressor Pressure Switches
A compressor pressure switch is used to control compressors, tanks or similar closed systems. Our compressor pressure switches are suitable for water and air. Therefore, their application is not limited to compressors. They're also popular to control water pumps for instance or to trigger alarms. Furthermore, we also provide versions that can be used with a wide range of other media.
Compressor pressure switches are either normally open (NO), normally closed (NC) or with changeover contacts (SPDT). The switch capacity varies per model. The switches have a cut-in and a cut-out pressure. The difference between cut-in and cut-out pressures is called hysteresis, the pressure band or pressure differential. With most types, you can set the cut-in pressure and the hysteresis. Each switch has a range of cut-in and cut-out pressures that can be visualized in a pressure diagram. When used with a compressor, make sure that the difference between cut-in and cut-out pressure is not too small. This will result in a quick start and stop sequence that will cause excessive wear on the compressor motor and switch. The switches are available with different options: with push button, rotary switch and with a variation in port connections and sizes.
