DC Power Supplies
A DC power supply gives direct current (DC) voltage to power a device. A DC power supply can be powered with an AC or DC source.
- An AC input is rectified and filtered to produce a DC voltage, which is then put through a regulator circuit to generate a constant DC output voltage.
- DC power supplies can also accept a DC voltage with typical values such as 5V, 12V, 24V, or 48V. Battery or collected energy (solar, fuel, etc.) can also be utilized as power inputs for DC power management subsystems.
