Joren van Mol
Twenty-eight-year-old Joren van Mol has been working at Tameson for almost two years. He lives with his girlfriend and in his spare time he rides motorbikes and plays field hockey once or twice a week. He studies Supply Chain Management at Tilburg University.
Time management
“There is not much time left for other things, but this is what my life looks like right now. I didn't necessarily start the education for my work, although it fits in nicely with the work I do. I mainly do this for myself. I have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Avans Hogeschool in Hertogenbosch. Here I learned everything about purchasing, sales and logistics, aimed at technical production companies. After my education I chose to start working instead of following an additional study. After four years of working at my first job, it was time for a new challenge. I ended up at Tameson through a job opening on the internet.”
“At my previous job I didn't do much with technology, which I thought was a pity. I have found technology interesting from an early age and I can use this passion here at Tameson. In addition, Tameson is a company where predominantly young people work and where there is still sufficient room for growth. Both in function and in terms of people. That also attracted me particularly."
Purchasing manager role
“I started as a sales engineer within Tameson, which meant that I focused mainly on sales. Soon I became involved in purchasing and product/data management and the priority came to lie here. As a result, Tom Oomen has taken over a large part of the sales activities. Because he works part-time, I help out a few times a week. In concrete terms, this means that I will start the day by sending purchase orders to our international suppliers. I then focus on product development and data management, so that new products can be offered in our webshop as quickly as possible. I usually end the day with sales and sending purchase orders to suppliers within Europe. And because I am not busy enough yet, my boss made me responsible for the warehouse and the people who work there."
Work challenge
“My goal within the company is to make Tameson grow even further. We are now based in the Videolab at Strijp-S, but it would be great if we had our own building with a large warehouse with an even wider product range.”
Actuator product line
“I am proud of our JP Fluid Control actuators. Tameson is closely involved in the production of these (modulating) actuators, which means that we are responsible for the entire process. As a result, we can keep costs relatively low and we are not dependent on other intermediaries, which ensures that these actuators are very competitively priced compared to competitors. In order to be able to offer a suitable actuator for every type of application, we also added J + J Automation actuators to our range last year.”
