Nikola Zelenovic
Nikola Zelenovic has been working for Tameson since early 2020 and is from Serbia. He lives with his fiancée in Kragujevac and in his spare time enjoys learning afro-latino dances, like salsa, rumba, son and bachata, and working out. He’s currently doing his master's studies in Informatics in Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in Kragujevac.
From uniform to casual
His life is a combination of many different paths and interests that always led him right where he needed to be. He worked from a very young age, first as a volunteer and after that as a certified lifeguard throughout high school. Upon graduating, Nikola went on to acquire his bachelor’s degree in military mechanical engineering at the Military Academy in Belgrade where he also got promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He worked as a military officer responsible for weapon systems research and development at the Military Technical Institute in Belgrade where he learned a lot in terms of engineering and interpersonal relationships. “I worked extremely hard for three years with almost no days off and even got an early promotion to a rank of Lieutenant, but there was no room for anything or anyone else and that’s when Tameson came into my life” he says.
Nikola had his first interview with Jan-Willem when he was on his vacation in Greece and that was an unimaginable experience for him he says. “Since all my superiors up to that point were high ranking officers that are not so easy to talk to. During that video call, I realized that Tameson is the place to be, especially for a young engineer that cherishes product quality and learning opportunities.”
New life with Tameson
“Working remotely for Tameson as a product developer expanded my views in so many ways. I got to befriend people from around the world and learn about them and their cultures” says Nikola. “Every day is a learning day, just like an engineer’s workday should be, with a wide range of products that need right specifications, descriptions, and assets that will make our customers’ lives easier and point them to the right product.” Nikola’s main job is to analyze and manage product data and present it in an optimal way for customers’ decision making and our maintenance activities.
Favorite products
His favorite products are ball valves, mainly because of their simplicity, but also because they were the first real project he did for Tameson. “Ball valves offer so much and require so little which makes them a beautiful product from both engineer’s and customer’s points of view. They are made out of various materials which make them suitable for certain applications and environments, designed with different port types for different piping systems and in accordance with standards and approvals that would ensure our customers of their suitability and reliability.”
His favorite series is BL2BN-M-GA that consists of ball valves with approval for applications with gas. “A simple product that you might see in your household and never really think of how much such a small thing contributes to your comfort and safety.”
