Solenoid Valve ST-SA 1/2'' brass FKM 0-10bar 12V DC
JP Fluid Control 2 way solenoid valve (type ST-SA) with G 1/2 inch threads and a 12 V DC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open) and semi-direct operating, so no pressure differential is required. Suitable for max media temperature of 120° C (248 ° F) pressure range of 0 - 10 bar (0 - 145 psi). Housing of brass with FKM (FPM) sealing and a 10.5 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 1.49 m3/h (24.84 l/min at dp=1 bar water).

Description
This is a JP Fluid Control semi-direct operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 12 V DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM (FPM) sealing and an orifice size of 10.5 mm (approximately 3/8 inch). The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied.
The valve is suitable for pressures of 0 - 10 bar (0 - 145 psi) and a maximum temperature of 120° C (248° F). The valve has a Kv-value of 1.49 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 24.84 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 1.72, which means 1.72 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator.
The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:
- Relatively large orifice (10.5 mm) for the compact body size
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
- Delivered including coil and connector
- Semi-direct operated valves work from 0 bar, which makes them suitable for low pressure or gravity fed systems, circulating closed circuits or even rough vacuums
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
Cons:
- If your pressure differential is always higher than 0.5 bar, an indirect operated solenoid valve could be an alternative with a larger flow rate
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- Solenoid valves use energy while activated and the coil may get hot. A well ventilated installation environment is recommended to dissipate the heat
ST-SA series
The ST-SA valve is a semi-directly operated, normally closed 2/2-way solenoid valve. The ST-SA series can be used from zero bar. The body is available in brass and stainless steel with an NBR, EPDM or FKM seal. The orifice is 10.5 mm for the brass valves, and 8 mm for the stainless steel valves. The ST-SA solenoid valves are compatible with all coils from the CS1-series.
The valves are available with BSP or NPT threads on request.
