Burkert type 8697 is a pneumatic position feedback and control unit, designed for decentralized automation of ELEMENT process valves. It registers the valve position via mechanical or inductive limit switches. External tubing is not needed, because the device has internal control air routing. LEDs show the status of the device along with the electrical position feedback directly on the unit itself. It is suitable for food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries thanks to the easy to clean housing, proven IP protection and chemically resistant materials. The combination with Burkert ELEMENT actuators provides spring chamber aeration that prevents actuator chamber contamination from the environment. This feedback unit is easy to mount on an actuator and serves as a replacement for a solenoid valve that would otherwise be used.
