Pressure Relief Valves For Liquid And Gas

Relief valves (also known as overflow valves) provide proportional pressure relief. They open gradually when the pressure exceeds the set pressure and open proportionally with an increase in pressure until the blow off pressure limit. When the pressure drops the valve begins closing. The proportional opening of the valve makes relief valves different from safety valves, which are fast opening. Relief valves are for example used to protect pumps in closed circuits. A fast relief would heavily stress the system. They may blow off continuously.

Tameson provides direct-acting, spring-loaded pressure relief valves with different pressure ranges and with different port sizes. The pressure can be adjusted with an allen key even when the system is running and without releasing any medium into the environment. Depending on the selected size and pressure, each valve has a different maximum blow-off capacity (both for air and water). You can find the blow-off capacity values in our datasheets.

We supply relief valves made of brass or stainless steel. The brass type is suited for most common applications while the stainless steel type is often chosen for use with corrosive fluids. They are gas-tight and have a compact design. They are suitable for compressed air, non-aggressive gases, mineral oil and non-toxic fluids.
