Stainless Steel Solenoid Valves For Industrial Cleaning
Stainless steel solenoid valves for industrial cleaning applications. Solenoid valves are (semi-)direct operated or indirect operated. Direct operated valves work without a differential pressure, while indirect operated valves require a pressure differential of at least 0.5 bar for proper operation. Solenoid valves can be used for clean liquids only, dirt can block them easily and in this case for instance electric ball valves are better suited. Different stainless steel grades are used for the parts of the solenoid valve. The housing is often made out of the austenitic 300 series, of which 304 and 316 are the most prevalent. The internal plunger must be ferromagnetic and is often made of the ferritic type 430. The 400 series has a lower corrosion resistance than the 300 series. The most common seal materials are EPDM, FKM and PTFE (Teflon). Please consult the chemical resistance chart to determine which materials are best suited for your application.
