Stainless steel ball valves for use in swimming pools. Stainless steels are widely used in pools. The most common grades are types 304 and 316 which provide excellent service when properly maintained. Type 316 is preferred for its greater resistance for crevice and pitting corrosion. For highly aggressive applications, such as water treatment areas, these stainless steel grades are susceptible to corrosion. For these situations, a better choice is PVC or other grades of austenitic steels.
