View Tameson’s selection of water solenoid valves 24V AC and 24V DC. The valves in this category have a brass housing, an EPDM seal and are normally closed (NC). These materials are a good and reliable solution for water applications. Since they are normally closed valves, when 24V AC or 24V DC is not applied they will prevent water from flowing through. When 24V AC or 24V DC is applied, the valve will open allowing water to flow through. They have 1 inlet and 1 outlet (2/2-way). They are ideal for water applications and additional product specification considerations are discussed below.

Additional Water Solenoid Valve 24V Selection Criteria

The considerations for operating type are:

1. Direct Operated: Doesn’t require a pressure differential to function properly.
2. Indirect Operated: Requires a pressure differential (typically 0.5 bar) to function properly.
3. Semi-Direct Operated: A pressure differential isn’t required, but assists in the operation.

Note: Proper valve orientation of inlet and outlet is important for proper function. The correct orientation is denoted with an arrow on the valve housing.

This selection of valves are 2/2-way, and the inlet and outlet ports are both female. The available port sizes are:

All products shown have a brass housing and an EPDM seal material. Brass as a housing material is ideal as it is resistant to water (won’t rust) and is durable. EPDM as a seal material is ideal as it is suitable for water, good resistance to weather influences, and suitable up to a maximum temperature of 120 °C or 130 °C.
