Solenoid Valve G1/2'' NO Brass FKM 0.2-12bar/3-174psi 24VDC Oxygen Fat/Oil Free 5282 187834
Reference: 187834
Brand: Burkert

Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 5282) with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve can be set to Normally Open (default setting) or Normally Closed. The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for slightly contaminated and aggressive media (media separation). Suitable for max media temperatures of 60 °C (140 °F) and a pressure range of 0.2 to 12 bar (3 to 174 psi). Housing of brass with FKM sealing and a 13 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 4 m3/h (66.68 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Manual override feature. The valve is fat and oil free.
Note: DIN connector not included.

This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 13 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied. However, the function can easily be changed between NC and NO by rotating the pilot valve on the top side by 180 degrees. Suitable for a pressure range of 0.2 to 12 bar (3 to 174 psi) and a maximum temperature of 60 °C (140 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 4 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 67 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 5, which means 5 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The FKM (fluorine rubber or Viton) sealing has excellent chemical properties, is suited for most oils and solvents but it cannot handle hot water or steam. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The manual override feature can be used to commission the system. The valve is fat and oil free, meaning it won't contaminate the media. Therefore, it's suitable for laboratory use as well as oxygen. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • Oil and fat free, so the valve does not contaminate the medium
  • The manual override is ideal for commissioning and in case of power outage
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
  • This valve is suitable for use with oxygen
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Diaphragm designed to separate aggressive and contaminated media

Cons:

  • Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.2 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
  • DIN connector not included

Series:

The Bürkert 5282 solenoid valve is used for the most demanding applications. The valve is built to last. The media separation makes the 5282 also suitable for aggressive media. The valve is equipped with standard features such as a manual override and adjustable opening and closing times. Furthermore, the circuit function can easily be changed from NC to NO, by simply rotating the 3/2 way pilot valve on top of the main valve body. The 5282 valve is available with a wide variation of housing and sealing materials. The brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements. Various ATEX versions are available for potentially explosive environment.
