Solenoid Valve G1'' NC Stainless Steel EPDM 0.2-16bar/3-232psi 24VAC Drinking Water 5282 237281
Reference: 237281
Brand: Burkert

Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 5282) with G 1 inch threads and a 24 V AC coil. The valve can be set to normally closed (default setting) or normally open. The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for slightly contaminated and aggressive media (media separation). Suitable for max media temperatures of 90 °C (194 °F) and a pressure range of 0.2 to 16 bar (3 to 232 psi). Housing of stainless steel with EPDM sealing and a 25 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 10 m3/h (166.7 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Manual override feature. Suitable for drinking water.
Note: DIN connector not included.

This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1 inch threads and a 24 V AC coil. The valve has a stainless steel housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 25 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. However, the function can easily be changed between NC and NO by rotating the pilot valve on the top side by 180 degrees. Suitable for a pressure range of 0.2 to 16 bar (3 to 232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 10 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 167 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 12, which means 12 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. The stainless steel housing is very durable, strong and resistant to a wide range of chemicals with the exception of chloride solutions. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The manual override feature can be used to commission the system. The valve is KTW-W270 certified for drinking water. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • This valve satisfies all European drinking water requirements
  • The manual override is ideal for commissioning and in case of power outage
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Diaphragm designed to separate aggressive and contaminated media

Cons:

  • Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.2 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
  • DIN connector not included

Series:

The Bürkert 5282 solenoid valve is used for the most demanding applications. The valve is built to last. The media separation makes the 5282 also suitable for aggressive media. The valve is equipped with standard features such as a manual override and adjustable opening and closing times. Furthermore, the circuit function can easily be changed from NC to NO, by simply rotating the 3/2 way pilot valve on top of the main valve body. The 5282 valve is available with a wide variation of housing and sealing materials. The brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements. Various ATEX versions are available for potentially explosive environment.
