Description
Bürkert semi-direct operating 2/2-way solenoid valve with G3/8'' inner threads and 230V UC (alternating or direct current) coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 6 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. Suitable for systems with a differential pressure of 0-16 bar and a maximum temperature of 140°C. The valve has a Kv-value of 0.6 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 10 l/min at the differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The FKM (fluorine rubber or viton) sealing has excellent chemical properties, is suited for most oils and solvents but it cannot handle hot water or steam. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. Energy efficient design for a long product lifecycle. The valve is fat and oil free, meaning it won't contaminate the media. Therefore, it's suitable for laboratory use as well as oxygen. The valve is certified for ATEX Ex-Zone 1, so it can be used in potentially explosive environments requiring this certification. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

6240 series
The Bürkert valve type 6240 is a 2/2-way semi-direct operated solenoid valve with a compact design and internal orifice diameters of up to DN 13. The special fluidic form of the valve body allows for high flow rates while the semi-direct operation makes it suitable for applications where zero differential pressure occurs in the system. Semi-direct operation is also referred to as servo assisted operation. The 6240 makes use of a piston instead of the typical rubber membrane, which makes the valve suitable for more demanding circumstances. The spring coupling of the pilot valve to the piston of the main valve allows for gentle opening and closing of the valve, which provides for a long service life. This 2/2-way piston valve includes a variety of certifications and a diverse range of tested body and seal materials. This, along with specialty versions such as low temperatures (-30°C), high-pressure, explosion protection and steam, allow for employment of the type 6240 in various applications.
