Solenoid Valve 25mm Glued Sleeves NC Plastic EPDM 0.5-6bar/7-87psi 24VDC 142 42045
Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 142) with 25 mm glued sleeves and a 24 V DC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open). The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for slightly contaminated and aggressive media (media separation). Suitable for max media temperatures of 50 °C (122 °F) and a pressure range of 0.5 to 6 bar (7 to 87 psi). Housing of plastic with EPDM sealing and a 20 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 6 m3/h (100.02 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Manual override feature.
Note: DIN connector not included.

Description
This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with 25 mm glued sleeves and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a plastic housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 20 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure range of 0.5 to 6 bar (7 to 87 psi) and a maximum temperature of 50 °C (122 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 6 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 100 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 7, which means 7 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. The PVC housing is strong and lightweight and resistant to many chemicals, acids and alkali. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The manual override feature can be used to commission the system. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:
- Aggressive media are possible thanks to the media separated design
- The manual override is ideal for commissioning and in case of power outage
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
Cons:
- Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.5 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
- DIN connector not included
Series:
The Bürkert 0142 valve is an indirect-operating valve with a port diameter from DN 15 up to DN 50 with true union glued sleeves. A minimum differential pressure of 0.5 bar is required for this indirect-operating valve to function. The housing is made of PVC as standard. PVDF is available on request and suitable for higher temperatures than PVC. The default options for sealing materials are EPDM and FKM. The separation of the medium with the valve's working parts makes it a good solution for aggressive or slightly contaminated media. The valve opens and closes by moving a flexible membrane. The 3/2-way pilot valve can be easily converted from normally closed to normally open functioning principle by rotating the main seat 180 degrees. All 0142 valves come with a with manual override for commissioning and testing. An electrical position feedback is optional.
