Description
This is a meter-in elbow pneumatic flow control valve for one-directional adjustable control of the air flow. It is a combination of a needle valve and an orifice check valve. The needle valve provides it with a flow rate adjustment while the orifice check valve makes sure the air flow is metered in one direction only. The meter-out configuration implies that the flow is affected (controlled) going from the male threaded port to the push-in fitting port. It is the other way around for the meter-in configuration.
It has a 4 mm push-in fitting on one side and an metric M3x0.5 male threaded port on the other side. The push-in fitting provides an easy connection with the tubing. Push the tube in and the fitting will fix it with stainless steel claws. The flow is metered going from the push-in fitting port to the male threaded port.
The operating pressure ranges from 0.5 to 5 bar (7.25 to 72.5 psi). It has NBR seals that make it suitable for applications within a temperature range from 0 to 60°C (32 to 140 °F) (no freezing).
Use a rotatable needle to adjust the orifice size that defines the flow rate and fix it with a locknut. Turn the needle in the clockwise direction to reduce and in the counterclockwise to increase the orifice size. When adjusting the flow rate start from the fully closed state to avoid a sudden move of an actuator. Avoid turning the needle with excessive torque, otherwise the flow characteristics may change due to the deformed resin valve seat.
Pros:
- Equipped with a locknut to secure the needle's position
- Adjustable flow rate
- Ideal for double-acting cylinders
- Equipped with easy to connect push-in fittings
Cons:
- Not suitable for vacuum applications
- Allows some air leakage so avoid using it for the application that requires no leakage
JSC series
The JSC - series includes elbow flow control valves for one-directional air flow control. Depending on the requirement the flow can be metered going from the threaded to the push-in fitting side or in the opposite direction. The push-in fitting sizes range from 3 to 12 mm and from 1/8 to 3/8 inch and threaded ports sizes range from M3x0.5 to M5x0.8 and from R1/8 to R1/2 inch. This series consists of standard type suitable for operating pressure range from 1 to 9 bar and check valve cracking pressure of 0.5 bar. They also include a low cracking pressure type suitable for operating pressure range from 0.5 to 5 bar and check valve cracking pressure of 0.2 bar. They are suitable for operating temperature range from 0 to 60°C (no freezing).
