This 3-way L-port brass ball valve with a valve bore diameter of 29 mm is designed for flow direction control. The L-port valve has a 90 degrees hole inside of the ball. An example of an application is to switch between two tanks to one outlet.

The valve has G 1-1/4 inch ports. This is BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper). With our wide range of 1-1/4 inch fittings you can connect it to any piping system.

The housing of the valve is made of nickel-plated brass, the ball is made of chromium-plated brass and the sealings are made of PTFE/FKM. The valve is suitable for water, compressed air, oils, fuels (no gasoline), heating oil, solvents, weak acids and alkalis up to a maximum pressure of 35 bar or 508 psi, and vacuum (max. -0.9 bar or -13 psi). The valve can be used within a temperature range from -10 to 120 °C (14 to 248 °F). Pressure inlet is possible on all three ports.

Use the quarter turn handle to operate the valve. By rotating it 90 degrees, the valve will switch position of the bore and the direction of the flow. The ports overlap during the ball rotation. This valve is not suitable for electrical or pneumatic control. For this purpose, valves with an ISO-Top flange (ISO 5211) are recommended.

Pros:

  • The L-port design allows to direct flow from one of two inlets to one outlet (or vice versa)
  • Suitable for vacuum
  • Pressure inlet on all three ports

Cons:

  • Suitable only for manual actuation
  • Not suitable for aggressive media

BL3BM series

View our 3-way brass ball valve BL3BM series. The ports range from 1/4 inch to 2-1/2 inch. The housing material is nickel-plated brass, the ball material is hard chromium plated brass and the sealings are PTFE/FKM. The valves are suited for an operating pressure of up to 55 bar or 798 psi and can be used for vacuum (max. -0.9 bar or -13 psi). The valves are suitable for water, compressed air, oils, fuels (no gasoline), heating oil, solvents, weak acids and alkalis. The valves can be used within a temperature range from -10 to 120 °C (14 to 248 °F). The whole series is handle operated. The pressure inlet can be on all three ports. The ball valves in the BL3BM-series of Tameson are characterized by a long life.
