This pneumatically actuated 3-way ball valve (L-port) with G 1/4" threads has a nominal diameter of 11 mm (Kv-waarde 5.5 m3). The double acting actuator has an aluminum housing and either an acetal resin cover. Delivers 21.6 Nm at 8 bar. The actuator has G 1/8 inch air ports and a 1/4 Namur interface to directly mount a solenoid valve. The ball valve has a stainless steel housing and a PTFE seal. Suitable for media from -20°C to 180°C and a max media pressure of 63 bar. ATEX (EX II 2GD c) certified for explosive environments.

This pneumatically controlled 3-way ball valve (L-port) allows for an increase in automation to your system compared to a manually controlled valve. The ball valve has a 11 mm diameter and is suitable for liquids and gases from -20 to 180°C. The pneumatic actuator is capable of creating 21.6 Nm of torque at 8 bar, but it has a control pressure window of 6 – 10 bar. The ball valve has G 1/4" threads to connect it to the piping/hosing carrying the media and the Kv value is 5.5 m3. The actuator is double acting with a reliable aluminium rack-and-pinion rotational operation. The actuator has an anodized aluminum housing and an acetal resin cover, while the ball valve has a stainless steel housing and a PTFE seal. The maximum media pressure is 63 bar. The actuator has G1/8 ports for the air supply and return. We recommend mounting a 1/4" Namur solenoid valve directly onto the actuator to control the air supply. Please note that 1/4 refers to the Namur size of the valve, not the port size.  Also, a position control or limit switch box can be mounted on the top of the actuator according to VDI/VDE 3845. The actuator is mounted on the ball valve via the ISO 5211 F03 flange (9 mm). The assembly is ATEX certified (EX II 2GD c) and may therefore be used in potentially explosive environments.

Pros:

  • Ability to directly mount a Namur solenoid valve to reduce fittings and tubing.
  • Mechanical indicator on top shows the valve position.
  • ATEX (EX II 2GD c) certified for explosive environments.
  • Lower investment cost than an electric version.
  • Fast opening/closing
  • Double acting allows for greater control than single acting actuators.
  • Can be equipped with a limit switch box.

Cons:

  • Double acting utilizes more compressed air than single acting actuators.
  • It requires a compressed air system and a solenoid valve to control the air supply.
  • Energy consumption is higher than compared with electric actuators, but initial investment is lower.

PAL-BL3SA series

BL3SA

The BL3SA series ball valves are reliable 3-way ball valves with a L-port or T-port. The housing is made of stainless steel, he ball is also made of stainless steel and the valve seats are made of PTFE/FKM. The valve is suitable for various aggressive and corrosive media up to a maximum of 63 bar. Suitable for temperatures between -20 and 180 degrees Celsius and available from size G 1/4" till G 2". Ball valves from the BL3SA series all have an ISO 5211 top flange (from F03 to max. F07) which makes the mounting of an actuator possible.

PAL

The PAL quarter turn pneumatic actuators allow you to control ball or butterfly valves with compressed air. They offer a reliable and robust solution to automate larger valves at a lower investment cost than electric actuators. They are mounted onto quarter turn valves with an ISO 5211 top flange (from F03 up to F12). With 8 different body sizes, they generate a torque range from 9.92 Nm to 901.8 Nm at 8 bar. Designed with a reliable aluminum rack and pinion rotational operation and designed to be either single acting (spring open or spring close) or double acting for increased control. These actuators are durable with an anodized aluminum housing and either an acetal resin (sizes 1-6) or aluminum (sizes 12-130) cover. The standard temperature range is -20°C to 80°C with an NBR seal, but an optional FKM seal is available for an increased maximum temperature of 120°C (sizes 1-6) or 150°C (sizes 12-130). All valves have a 1/4" Namur interface according to VDI/VDE 3845 with either G 1/8" or G 1/4" threads. The actuator is suitable for explosive environments thanks to the ATEX (EX II 2GD c) certification.
