The Dehn connector for lightning protection is constructed from pressure die-cast zinc. The type of connection used is a sleeve connection, specifically designed for the longitudinal connection of two round conductors. It can accommodate round conductor diameters ranging from 7 to 10mm. It is built to manage a lightning current capacity of 10/350µs 100kA. Although it does not come with any surface protection as it is untreated, the connector does feature hexagonal screw-type fastenings utilizing four M6 screws.
