As one of the first electrical engineering companies, Eaton (then known as Hazemeyer) introduced the home installation box to the market in 1932. This distribution board was sold under the name Hajaliet and was made from the raw material Bakelite. Almost 80 years after the appearance of the first Hazemeyer group box and a number of Holec models later, the group boxes of Eaton Industries are made of plastic under the name System 55. The System 55 group boxes get their name from the fact that the external height and width dimensions of all different types of boxes in the range have a dimension that is a multiple of 55 mm. System 55 is a modular plastic cabinet system for assembling home connection combinations and switching and distribution devices for homes, (retail) businesses, offices and practice rooms. Eaton Holec System 55 includes switch boxes, boxes with security components, rail boxes, terminal boxes, power boxes, and a complete package of associated accessories and fittings.
