This cast iron (GGG40) Belimo butterfly valve is offered in combination with a modulating electrical actuator. The actuator is equipped with a fail-safe feature that ensures safe operation in the event of a power failure. Actuator requires 24 V AC/DC to operate. The butterfly valve has a nominal diameter of 52 mm, suitable for media temperatures between -20 and 120 °C (-4 and 248 °F), and max pressure of 16 bar (232 psi). This Belimo butterfly valve is offered in combination with a modulating fail-safe (NC/NO) electrical actuator. The actuator can turn the valve from 0-90 degrees in a time of 150 seconds and requires a supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC. The electrical actuator comes with a visual positioning indicator to clearly see valve position. The butterfly valve has a wafer type flange for connecting it to the piping, a nominal diameter of DN 50, and is rated up to 16 bar (232 psi) for non-hazardous fluids. Please note that the maximum pressure may deviate based on the medium type, so carefully check the datasheet. The butterfly valve has a cast iron GGG 40 housing, and an EPDM seal. The valve is suitable for media temperatures between -20 and 120 °C (-4 and 248 °F). The actuator has an IP54 degree of protection and is suitable for an environmental temperature of -30 to 50 °C (-22 and 122 °F). The actuator utilizes a 0-10 V control type and provides position feedback, enabling precise control of its movements and accurate monitoring of its position within the specified voltage range. The actuator can be mounted on the valve via the ISO 5211 flange. Before connecting the actuator, please read the manual carefully. The actuator simultaneously positions the valve as the integrated capacitors are charged. In case of a power supply interruption, the valve is automatically moved to the fail-safe (NC/NO) position using stored electrical energy.

The actuator, equipped with overload protection, the actuator doesn't need limit switches and will stop automatically when the end stop is reached. Manual override is possible using a push-button, which disengages the gear train as long as the button is pressed or remains locked. The actuator can be directly mounted on the rotary or butterfly valve with a mounting flange. The mounting orientation relative to the valve can be selected in 90° increments. The actuator moves the valve to the desired operating position simultaneously as the integrated capacitors charge. If the power supply is interrupted, the valve shifts to the chosen fail-safe position using the stored electrical energy. The rotation angle can be adjusted with mechanical end stops. The capacitor actuators require a pre-charging period to bring the capacitors to a usable voltage level. This ensures that, in case of a power failure, the actuator can move from its current position into the fail-safe position at any time. The rotary knob fail-safe position allows for adjusting the preferred fail-safe position. In case of a power outage, the actuator moves to the selected fail-safe position, considering the factory-set bridging time of 2 seconds. Post-factory delivery, the actuator is fully discharged and requires about 20 seconds of pre-charging before initial setup to attain the necessary voltage level in the capacitors.
