G1/4'' calorimetric flow meter & switch WIKA FSD-4 with IO-Link
Monitors flow and temperature of water-based liquids with a heated sensor. No moving parts can wear or jam; typical uses: coolant circuits, filter monitoring and pump dry-running protection. It measures 0.05 to 3 m/s (about 1.6 to 96 l/min in the 26 mm inner-diameter pipe WIKA uses for calibration); set the inner pipe diameter to show l/min. The 28 mm long probe screws into a G 1/4" socket. Output 1 switches at a set flow, output 2 at a set flow or temperature (PNP/NPN). It runs on 15 to 35 V DC and is rated to 40 bar (≈580 psi) and +85 °C (≈185 °F). IO-Link also sends the values to a master.

Pros:
- No moving parts, no wear
- Flow and temperature measurement, two adjustable outputs
- Teach function: zero point and maximum flow set at the measuring point
- IO-Link for data to the control system
Cons:
- Only for water-based liquids; for oil, choose a variable area flow switch
- The sensor measures velocity, so the l/min value depends on the pipe diameter
