Burkert 3/2 way solenoid valve (type 6724) with UNF 1/4-28 threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve connects a common port to one of the two other ports depending on whether the coil is energized. The pressure can be applied to all ports. The valve is direct operating, so no differential pressure required. Suitable for slightly contaminated and aggressive media (media separation). Suitable for max media temperatures of 50 °C (122 °F) and a pressure range of -1 - 2 bar (-15 - 29 psi). Housing of PEEK with FKM sealing and a 1.2 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 0.026 m3/h (0.43 l/min at dp = 1 bar water).

Note: DIN connector not included.

This is a Burkert direct operating 3/2 way solenoid valve with UNF 1/4-28 threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a PEEK housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 1.2 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is universal. The 3-way valve connects a common port to one of the two other ports, depending on whether the coil is energized. In this version, the pressure can be applied to all ports. As it is direct operating, no pressure differential over the valve is needed to open the valve. Suitable for a pressure of -1 - 2 bar (-15 - 29 psi) and a maximum temperature of 50 °C (122 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 0.026 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 0 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 0, which means 0 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. This model is media separated. This means that the working parts such as the spring are separated from the media by a flexible membrane, which makes it possible to use of slightly contaminated and aggressive media. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP10 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • Aggressive media are possible thanks to the media separated design
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP10 rating
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Compact design with 8.9 mm installation width

Cons:

  • Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended

Series:

The Bürkert type 6724 is a solenoid valve designed to meet the specific requirements of fluidic processes in various applications. In fields such as medical devices, printing, and pipetting, solenoid valves need to be small, lightweight, and capable of switching silently. The Whisper Valve Type 6724 is ideal for these applications due to its compact design, high chemical resistance, and almost silent switching (less than 20 dB(A)) with very low power consumption. The valve is highly versatile due to its modular structure and range of available material variants. Additionally, it offers high back-pressure tightness, excellent cleanability, and a 100% duty cycle. This valve is offered in two sizes, DN 0.8 mm (for vacuum pressures up to 5 bar) and 1.2 mm (for vacuum pressures up to 3 bar).
