Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 6213) with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open). The semi-direct operating valve opens without needing differential pressure and requires only a slight pressure differential for full opening. Suitable for max media temperatures of 90 °C (194 °F) and a pressure range of 0 - 10 bar (145 psi). Housing of stainless steel with FKM sealing and a 13 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 3.6 m3/h (60.01 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Low risk of water hammer thanks to dampened closing. The valve is fat and oil free.

Note: DIN connector not included.

This is a Burkert semi-direct operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a stainless steel housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 13 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. The semi-direct operating valve opens without needing differential pressure and requires only a slight pressure differential for full opening. Suitable for a pressure of 0 - 10 bar (145 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 3.6 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 60 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 4, which means 4 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. The stainless steel housing is very durable, strong and resistant to a wide range of chemicals with the exception of chloride solutions. The FKM (fluorine rubber or Viton) sealing has excellent chemical properties, is suited for most oils and solvents but it cannot handle hot water or steam. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve's design prevents water hammering. The valve is fat and oil free, meaning it won't contaminate the media. Therefore, it's suitable for laboratory use as well as oxygen. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • Oil and fat free, so the valve does not contaminate the medium
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
  • Silicone free, so the valve does not contaminate the medium
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Compact design with high flow rate
  • A damped design ensures reduced noise levels
  • Low risk on water hammer, thanks to the dampened closing

Cons:

  • Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended

Series:

The Bürkert 6213 valve is a semi-direct operated valve. The plunger of the solenoid is coupled to the rubber membrane via a spring. The valve opens at zero bar but requires a minimal pressure differential for full opening. Orifices up DN 40 and port sizes up to 2 inch are available. All 6213 valves satisfy protection class IP65 and feature a damped housing design for quiet closing. The standard brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements. A special version (HP00) which opens the valve without differential pressure is available for gas and vacuum applications. For reduced energy requirement, all coils can be delivered with electronic power reduction.
