Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 6240) with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V AC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open (voltage = close). The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperatures of 80 °C (176 °F) and a pressure range of 1 - 200 bar (15 - 2901 psi). Housing of stainless steel with PCTFE sealing and a 12 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 2.2 m3/h (36.67 l/min at dp = 1 bar water).

Description
This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 24 V AC coil. The valve has a stainless steel housing with PCTFE sealing and an orifice size of 12 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure of 1 - 200 bar (15 - 2901 psi) and a maximum temperature of 80 °C (176 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 2.2 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 37 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 3, which means 3 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. The stainless steel housing is very durable, strong and resistant to a wide range of chemicals with the exception of chloride solutions. The PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene) sealing is resistant to almost all media. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:

Cons:
- Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 1 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
