The semi-direct operating valve opens without differential pressure. Suitable for max media temperatures of 80 °C (176 °F) and a pressure range of 0 - 16 bar (232 psi). Housing of brass with NBR sealing and a 25 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 10 m3/h (166.7 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Suitable for vacuum. Low risk of water hammer thanks to dampened closing.

Description
This is a Burkert semi-direct operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with 1 inch NPT threads and a 240 V AC/DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with NBR sealing and an orifice size of 25 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. The semi-direct operating valve opens without differential pressure. Suitable for a pressure of 0 - 16 bar (232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 80 °C (176 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 10 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 167 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 12, which means 12 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The NBR (nitrile rubber) sealing is suited for water, air, alcohol and is fairly resistance to oil and petrol. NBR is unsatisfactory with oxidising fluids. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve's design prevents water hammering. Suitable for vacuum applications. This valve is certified to comply with UR Component cURus standard. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected. The valve is equipped with a "kick-and-drop" function, which provides a high inrush current to switch the valve and then reduces to a low holding current to keep the valve in position. This results in a significant reduction in power consumption.

The Bürkert 0290 valve is a semi-direct (servo assisted) solenoid valve of the S.EV series. The membrane features a fixed coupling to a plunger. This means that the valve opens without a differential pressure over the valve. It can be used for low pressure applications, such as gravity fed systems or closed circulating circuits. The valve is designed for a quiet operation. All UC variants have electronic control to achieve a high inrush current to open the valve and a low holding current to keep the valve in the opened position. This "kick and drop" system results in low power consumption and low heat generation, contributing to the 0290's extended lifecycle.
