Solenoid Valve ST-IB 1'' NO brass EPDM 0,5-13bar 24V DC
JP Fluid Control 2 way solenoid valve (type ST-IB) with G 1 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open (voltage = close) and indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperature of 120° C (248 ° F) pressure range of 0.5 - 13 bar (7 - 189 psi). Housing of brass with EPDM sealing and a 25 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 10.24 m3/h (170.7 l/min at dp=1 bar water).

Description
This is a JP Fluid Control indirect operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 25 mm (approximately 1 inch). The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied.
The valve is suitable for pressures of 0.5 - 13 bar (7 - 189 psi) and a maximum temperature of 120° C (248° F). The valve has a Kv-value of 10.24 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 170.7 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 11.84, which means 11.84 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator.
The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suitable for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
- Delivered including coil and connector
- EPDM is suitable for (hot) water, neutral fluids and many chemicals
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
Cons:
- Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.5 bar). If you have a low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve or another valve type such as an electric ball valve
- EPDM is not suitable for oils and fats
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- Solenoid valves use energy while activated and the coil may get hot. A well ventilated installation environment is recommended to dissipate the heat
ST-IB series
The ST-IB is an indirectly operated 2/2-way solenoid valve (normally open). The valve has an orifice from 13 mm up to 50 mm, and require a differential pressure of minimally 0.5 bar to operate. The body is available in brass and stainless steel with an NBR, EPDM or FKM seal. The ST-IB solenoid valves are compatible with all coils from the CS2-series.
The valves are available with BSP or NPT threads on request.
