Bürkert flow sensor fittings for paddle wheel and insertion meters
Sensor fittings join a Bürkert flow meter to the pipe and place its measuring element in the flow. They are made by Bürkert and fit Bürkert meters only. There are two kinds, and which one is needed follows from the meter:
- S030 inline fitting: a full-bore stainless body with the paddle wheel built in. An SE30, SE32, or SE35 transmitter fits on top and picks it up. This is the sensor half of an inline paddle wheel meter.
- S020 insertion fitting: a body with a single port and no measuring element of its own. An insertion meter (the 8025, 8041, or 8045) has its own probe, and the S020 gives that probe a way into the pipe.
Which fitting for which meter
The fitting follows the meter:
- An SE30, SE32, or SE35 transmitter needs an S030, which holds the paddle wheel for it.
- An 8025, 8041, or 8045 insertion meter needs a port such as the S020, since the probe is part of the meter, not the fitting.
Either way, choose the fitting for the pipe connection and size, and for the wetted material that suits the liquid.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the S030 and the S020?
The S030 has the measuring element, a paddle wheel, built into the fitting, and it works with the SE transmitters. The S020 is a bare port: the meter that uses it has its own probe. So an S030 plus an SE transmitter makes a meter, while an S020 is only the mounting point for an insertion meter.
Will a Bürkert fitting work with another brand of meter?
No. The S030 and S020 are made for Bürkert flow meters and fit the Bürkert sensors and transmitters only. Start from the Bürkert meter or transmitter the fitting has to serve.
