Gas Ball Valves

Explore Tameson's wide range of manual 2-way brass gas ball valves with approval from various global manufacturers. Certain gas applications require approval to ensure the valve meets the function and safety criteria. These gas ball valves have DVGW approval and are compatible with the DIN-EN 331 standard.

A 2-way gas ball valve is suitable for gas applications (i.e., natural gas, city gas, liquid gas up to 5 bar). A gas shut-off ball valve is the most common application for these valves to ensure that a gas line is completely shut off when it is not needed downstream. Typically, buying a valve with approvals is more expensive than one without, so ensure you require one with approvals.

The 2-way function of a gas ball valve means it has two ports, an inlet and an outlet, and a ball with a bore in it. They are operated by a manual hand lever to turn the ball 90 degrees. The handle is connected directly to the ball through the stem. Simply turn the handle perpendicular to the pipe to close it and parallel to the pipe to open it. This allows for easy visual identification on whether a two-way ball valve is open or closed.

The brass housing makes the gas ball valves suitable for a wide variety of media, such as water, neutral, gaseous, non-aggressive, liquid media, mineral oils, and compressed air. Brass ball valves are more resistant to contaminated media compared to other types of housing material and provides reliable sealing even in the case of dirty media. The brass housing also makes them economical and able to withstand high pressure, high temperature, and high flow rate applications. Ball valves are known for their simple operation, reliability, long service life, and wide range of applications.
