Pneumatic Pinch Valves
Pneumatic pinch valves are a simple and effective solution for shut-off control applications with abrasive, corrosive or fibrous products. A pneumatic pinch valve ensures an optimal shut-off, even when used with solids, such as granules, powders, pellets, chipping, sand, cement, gravel, textile fibers, carbon, fine glass fragments and slurries (liquids that contain solids). These valves allow completely free flow of the media and prevent clogs, which make them ideal for the listed media types. When selecting the pinch valve it is important to select the right body material, the sleeve material and connection ports.
The housing has a female thread on top where the air supply can be mounted. Applying the pressurized air through this connection port shuts off the flow of the media. Pneumatic pinch valves are available with stainless steel, steel, aluminium or POM housing. They are equipped with threaded or flanged connection ports which make them suitable for almost every piping system.
The sleeve allows for a leak-free operation and minimal frictional resistance for the media flow. Different sleeve materials make the valves suitable for various media and temperature ranges. Available sleeve types are: food safe natural rubber, abrasion resistant natural rubber, EPDM and NBR.
Be sure to check the maximum operating pressure which defines how much can a valve withstand and the control pressure that defines the pressure difference between the control media and the controlled media. This pressure difference ensures safe and reliable control and shut-off of the media flow.
