G1/2'' L-Bore 3-Way PVC Modulating Electric Ball Valve 24 V AC/DC
This modulating electrical actuator is offered in combination with a 3-way L-bore PVC ball valve. The valve has G 1/2 inch female threaded ports. This is BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel). The valve has a 14 mm bore, with Kv value of 3.5 m3/h (Cv = 4.05 gpm). Kv expresses the flow rate of water in m3/h at a pressure drop of one bar. The valve can handle pressure of up to 10 bar at 20°C (145 psi at 68°F). It is suitable for temperatures from 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F). The valve is suitable for applications with contaminated water or corrosive media, such as chloride solutions (seawater or swimming pools). The valve body and the ball are made of PVC-U. The sealings are made of PTFE/EPDM.
The actuator can turn the valve from 0-90 degrees with an operating torque of 40 Nm (higher break torque so please see the manual) in a time of 13 seconds. It requires a supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC, has an S2 short-time duty cycle (10 min - see manual), and comes with a visual positioning indicator on top of the unit to clearly see valve position. As a modulating actuator, it is equipped with a digital positioning system (DPS) meaning it can position the valve anywhere between 0-90 degrees. It requires a control signal of 4-20 mA (and 0-10V, 2-10V) for positioning. With the actuator`s durable polyamide (PA) housing, it gives the unit a protection of IP67 for an environment temperature of -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).

It requires a supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC, has an S2 short-time duty cycle (10 min - see manual), and comes with a visual positioning indicator on top of the unit to clearly see valve position. With the actuator`s durable polyamide (PA) housing, it gives the unit a protection of IP67 for an environment temperature of -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).
Before connecting the actuator, please read the manual carefully. Comes unassembled, including ball valve (V3KKJ), actuator (AG-540-B-DPS), and mounting accessories.
Pros:
- It is a modulating actuator with a digital positioning system (DPS) to position the valve anywhere between 0-90 degrees with a control signal of 4-20 mA
- The actuator has a robust IP67 housing
- The actuator has a clear visual indicator to see the valve`s position
Cons:
- In comparison to a pneumatic actuator of the same size, the operating speed is slower
Bore and circuit function
The ball has a L-port. Rotating the ball 90 degrees allows you to switch between two circuits.

Electrical Wiring Diagram
Follow the safety instructions and manual before you start installation. The actuator features a 10-terminal wiring system split between essential power and optional feedback functions. For basic operation, Terminals 1, 2, and 3 provide a ground and a 24V AC/DC power supply with automatic voltage detection. Terminals 4 and 5 receive a modulating input signal, which is set to 4-20 mA by default but can be configured to 0-10V or 2-10V. For remote monitoring, Terminals 6 and 7 provide a continuous position feedback signal, typically 4-20 mA. External voltage must never be applied to these feedback pins to avoid permanent damage. Finally, Terminals 8, 9, and 10 use a common source to provide discrete "Open" or "Closed" status confirmations via limit switches.

Assembly
Make sure that the position of the ball and the actuator are properly set before assembly. The actuator is provided with two adapters to connect the actuator to the valve shaft. Mount the actuator to the valve with the provided bolts. There should be no play between both flanges. Use our range of fittings to connect the valve to your existing pipework.
Note: This product is delivered in separate parts, but with the required mounting accessories.
