Description
SIMATIC S7-1200, CPU 1214C, is a compact CPU, with AC/DC/relay onboard I/O also possessing configurations such as 14 DI 24 V DC, 10 DO relay 2 A, and 2 AI 0-10 V DC. Its power supply ranges from AC 85-264 V AC at 47-63 Hz and it has a program/data memory of 100 KB. The SIMATIC S7-1200 Basic Controller is flexible due to its variety of communication options. These Basic Controllers are a prime choice for implementing automation tasks flexibly and efficiently in the mid to low performance range. The CPUs are scaled in performance and are available for different input voltages with transistor or relay outputs. Safety versions are also ready for use.
Besides the existing integrated inputs and outputs, the compact CPUs can be expanded directly on the device or with a wide range of signal and communication modules to adapt them to your exact needs. Furthermore, the HMI devices can be connected via the integrated Ethernet interface. The CPU memory can be expanded with a memory card, and the PLC is configured using the STEP 7 Basic software in the TIA Portal.
The micro PLC has a wide range of networking options via various communication standards by means of integrated functions (such as PROFINET, Modbus, etc.) or add-on modules (like IO-Link, AS-i, etc.), thus offering maximum flexibility in the topology and when setting up the networks. Thanks to its compact design, the application areas for the S7-1200 are very varied and extend from simple packaging machines and heating systems to its use as a subordinate control system in larger plants. Its compact design, modular structure, and integrated IOs help to save space in the control cabinet.
The STEP7 configuration software is integrated into the TIA Portal and thereby provides shared data storage, a uniform operating concept, and integrated communication services for all system components. This results in lower configuration costs and faster commissioning.
