Electric Stainless Steel Ball Valves
Explore Tameson's wide range of 2-way electric stainless steel ball valves from various global manufacturers. A 2-way electric stainless steel ball valve has a stainless steel housing and two ports: an inlet and an outlet, and a ball with a bore in it. These ball valves are operated by an electric actuator that turns the ball 90 degrees, which is why they are often called quarter-turn ball valves or shut-off valves. An electric-actuated ball valve can be broken down into two main components, namely, the electric actuator (servo motor) and the ball valve. Electrically actuated stainless steel ball valves are used for a wide variety of aggressive, corrosive media. The material is highly wear-resistant, and the valves are often resistant to high temperatures and operating pressures. The most common types of stainless steel used in electric ball valves are 304 and 316, of which 316 steel has the best corrosion resistance. For some media, such as chloride solutions, stainless steel (mostly 304) is not recommended, and PVC can be used instead.
