Solenoid Valve ST-DA 1/4'' brass EPDM 0-13bar 120V AC
JP Fluid Control 2 way solenoid valve (type ST-DA) with G 1/4 inch threads and a 120 V AC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open) and direct operating, so no pressure differential is required. Suitable for max media temperature of 130° C (266 ° F) pressure range of 0 - 13 bar (0 - 189 psi). Housing of brass with EPDM sealing and a 3 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 0.2 m3/h (3.33 l/min at dp=1 bar water).

Description
This is a JP Fluid Control direct operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1/4 inch threads and a 120 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 3 mm (approximately 1/8 inch). The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied.
The valve is suitable for pressures of 0 - 13 bar (0 - 189 psi) and a maximum temperature of 130° C (266° F). The valve has a Kv-value of 0.2 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 3.33 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 0.23, which means 0.23 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator.
The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suitable for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
- Delivered including coil and connector
- EPDM is suitable for (hot) water, neutral fluids and many chemicals
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
Cons:
- EPDM is not suitable for oils and fats
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- Solenoid valves use energy while activated and the coil may get hot. A well ventilated installation environment is recommended to dissipate the heat
ST-DA series
The ST-DA is a direct operated 2/2-way solenoid valve. The starting position is normal closed. The orifice is 3 mm, they operate from 0 bar pressure differential and are suitable for small flow rates. The body is available in brass, nylon and stainless steel with an NBR, EPDM or FKM seal. The ST-DA solenoid valves are compatible with all coils from the CS1-series.
The valves are available with BSP or NPT threads on request.
